Innovation District
Sister Manchester
University of Manchester / Bruntwood SciTech
Information last verified: August 2026 · Source: sistermanchester.com
Sister is an emerging innovation district in central Manchester, on the University of Manchester's former North Campus. It is a joint venture between the University of Manchester and Bruntwood SciTech, backed by Manchester City Council and the Investment Zone, planned across around 4 million square feet to bring together science and technology companies, researchers, homes and public space over the coming years. The first phase centres on the Renold Building as an innovation hub. Much of the district is still in planning and construction, so workspace is limited and phased rather than a live application-based programme.
